The Honolulu Metropolis Council passed out to committee Wednesday a monthly bill that would additional crack down on illegal brief-time period rental units — like all those marketed on Airbnb and Vrbo. But some councilmembers expressed dismay about confusion about a key provision in the evaluate.
Bill 41 was filed in reaction to continued problems from residents in regions like Kailua and Waimānalo who say illegal family vacation rentals are bringing site visitors congestion, noise, and criminal offense to parts not zoned for them.
